Woke up at 5:30. Got the coffee started, fed the cats, and then went outside to watch the sun rise. Turned on the Christmas lights Mom and I hung up a few weeks back. It was fucking gorgeous.

Meeko followed me out there where she promptly destroyed a fairy ring and then tried to devour the remains. I told her to stop being such a druggie and she flopped over and was a cat.

I tried listening for the exact moment when the night sounds turned into day sounds. I could hear the birds awakening around me (we have a lot of bird that nest in the trees in and around our yard because we don't use pesticides in our garden so there's always lots of of yummy things for them to eat). I heard the crickets and cicadas start to simmer down. I saw a sleepy toad crawl under the fence, returning from his wild toad party, and slowly hop back to his flower bed. I think he may have had a little too much to drink.

And now I am sitting in my room with a lapful of fatcat, a Wonder Woman mug filled with a coffee, and a pink kitty plate covered with fudge cookies. I think I'm going to try to get a new layout up today. But I may get lazy and decide not to do that.

I'm also rereading Harry Potter. I just read the part in SS/PS where Hagrid buys Hedwig for Harry. So. Many. Tears.

Other things on the agenda for today: laundry, shower, possible hair-braiding, crocheting (????!!!!), and magic.

Also, this icon isn't really that relevant, I just haven't used it since making it and I wanted to see it on my LJ. WHAT A DWEEB.

OH BLEARGH I just remembered I wanted to redo my mood theme. That is going to take forever. I wanted my pictures bigger and I no longer have any of the files I used so I have to track down more screen caps and do the whole thing up again from scratch. Which actually I would have to do anyway since I made it before Toy Story 3 came out so. yeah.
