What have I been up to lately?
Well, last weekend I went to central Texas with my geology class. We had lots of fun and I whored out with Becca. We also swooned over our SI who is DELISH. Most of my pictures are on my camera, but here's one I took from the top of Enchanted Rock (an uplifted batholith exfoliation dome if that means anything to y'all) with my cell:

Climbing up there was so. hard. But so worth it. I sang the original Pokemon theme to Becca to spur her on when it looked like she was going to give up. Cheering her on distracted me from how exhausted I was.

But. OMG. Mr Hobbs drives like a crazy man. I thought we were going to crash and be so dead. But I like how he road trips. All business. "OKAY WE'RE HERE. GET OUT. LOOK AT THIS FORMATION. LOOK AT THE FACIES. IT MEANS THIS. NOW GET IN THE VAN. WE'RE GOING. I'M LEAVING YOU." Haha, it was so great.

Um. These next ones I stole from Becca's tumblr.

We ate at Long John Silvers. I got a hat.

And then I flicked her off for trying to take a picture of me.

Yuri (our SI) and I admiring the scenery.

idk what this is. Apparently I was humping the bed? Idk. All I know is that I was tired.

On the way up to E-Rock we took a break. LOOK AT THAT SKY. Gorgeous.

On top of E Rock.

Still on E Rock.

Um. Me and Yuri.

I got some fossils and some gypsum and some blue quartz. It was really fun.

Then yesterday (Saturday) I went to Galveston/Bolliver Penninsula/High Island with my geology class (yeah, I've been wracking up a LOT of extra credit lately).

It was overcast ALL DAY.

Then I had a panic attack on the ferry over to Bolliver. While I was freaking out, I apparently missed some dolphins? Lauren was nice and talked me through it. I was pulling a total McCoy. DISEASE! DANGER! DARKNESS! SILENCE!

And then this is the beach at High Island. I found some pretty shells and shivered a lot. We also found a pleistocene bone of some kind.

And then we went home and now I think I am sick. My tonsils and lymph nodes are swollen and it hurts to swallow. You should see my throat. It's gross.
