• This retrospective on Voyager's "Displaced" serves as an interesting thought-piece on the episode. I had never noticed the play on temperatures within the episode, and now I want to rewatch it to see what else I may have missed!

• This article on the public's reaction to allergies (specifically, nut allergies) echoes my thoughts. I think it's ridiculous, the means that people go to in order to avoid causing one attack--and not necessarily even for someone with an acute allergy! I'm quite allergic to cats (Cindy, I left your house and I thought I was going to die!), but I have always lived with them--multiple cats, even! Being allergic to something doesn't necessarily mean that you must avoid the thing altogether. Obviously, it must be taken in a case-by-case basis, but complete removal of a thing is not always the right answer, or even feasible.
