Ha....LAME
So I'm still sick. I thought I was waaaay better, but then I got in my truck this morning to try to go to school. I got about as far as the high school before I realized I was too dizzy/nauseated to make it all the way to college school. D< I did not want to miss school today! I wanted to go!!! I had pop choir today and I need practice! Bah...whatev.
HEB has some Hello Kitty phone charms. Let me know if any of you want one, since I basically failed at Christmas this year (last year???).
I think I'm going to have some nice healthy chocolate chip cookies. Those are sure to speed my recovery. XD
OH! I got to talk politics with Bethy last night! That was fun. I don't think I've ever done that before. It made me miss her. And want to go to Baldwin-Wallace!!! It sounds like they have some fun times there. XD
But then I was sad again, because talking politics reminded me that Kucinich dropped from the race. I think I'm going to go for John Edwards now. His stand on stuff (v. professional political talk here gaiz) mostly agrees with me. I could not vote for Hilary or Barack. I don't like the way they are running their campaigns. I understand that some mudslinging will happen, but geez....you two are adults, right? RIGHT?!?!?!? But Barack Obama's going to be our next president, most likely. He's got a Kennedy backing him, and quite a few people find that highly impressive, since the Kennedy's are one of the most well-known political families in America. Heh....my mom has actually compared him to the Anti-Christ. It was the first time I had ever heard her quote from the Bible, or say anything religious for that matter. XD
Bah....what else, what else.....
Oh yeah....2012. End of the world or something just as big. I'm kind of looking forward to seeing what happens. I want to see who's right. XD
Bah.....for those who care:
Iraq/terrorist junk - wasn't our place to go there. If they want democracy, they'll get it themselves, otherwise, it has no meaning. But now we're there. So we better stay there until it's gotten to a point where it won't rear up and bite us in the ass anymore than it already has.
Environmental/Green stuff - We need to find alternative fuels. We need some kind of international agreement, like the Kyoto protocol, except AMERICA NEEDS TO SIGN.
Crime/Punishment - They're criminals. They've broken the law. I resent that they get food and health care more easily than any member of my family, as we are all law-abiding citizens and have been that way for about as close to forever as it comes. I don't think that's right.
Gay Rights - Let them marry who they will. You can't argue over the sanctity of it, since America isn't a theocracy.
Abortion/Birth Control - It's the woman's choice. She has to carry the stupid thing.
Civil Liberties/Domestic Security - "Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both." - Benjamin Franklin
Health Care - A big thing for me. The government should spend way more on this. I'm for a universal care program. I've honestly thought of moving out of the country, because I am so sick of trying to jump through hoops to get good health care. My hospital bills from November are worth more than the house I live in. First of all, I legally died, I shouldn't have to pay them. Since they did revive me, you would think I would get some kind of charity or something. Nope. Why? Because I have lousy EMERGENCY ONLY insurance that paid for less than 15% of my hospitalization charges. My bills are still worth more than my house. We can barely afford the house. How are we supposed to afford the bills?
Education - This is perhaps the biggest BIG ONE for me. No Child Left Behind screwed over our children. It raped and robbed their education. NCLB is one thing that I could go on and on about. A child's education should not be about regurgitation, but about...I don't know....LEARNING?!?!?! Is that too liberal for you?!?!! And hey, here's a thought....schools need money to teach! And hey, the more money you give them, the better they can....what's that word???? TEACH!!! And the better students can.....what's it called?? OH YEAH, LEARN!!! The educational system in this country is god-awful. It needs to be fixed. Forcing unrealistic standards upon schools and then not providing any sort of a monetary allotment to try to help them reach those standards does not work.

And that, dearies, is why I do not try to make serious entries when I am sick. They will just quickly degrade into soap box rants filled with punctuation marks galore.
